Camion Code
The Camion Code is a phonetically-based (phonemic) glottographic, yet featural, writing system intended to replace the alphabet (hopefully for virtually all human languages). It is based on 5 lines representing 5 schematic 'places of articulation'. Consonants are represented on the lines, and vowels between the lines. There are 4 characteristics of marks for the consonants: long (fricative), short (plosive), thick (voiced), and thin (voiceless); vowels are 'thin' (stretched) or 'thick' (rounded), and for most the 'length' may vary.

English, International Corpus of
ICE-GB is a fully parsed corpus of adult British English from the 1990s.
It contains 300 spoken texts and 200 written texts - a total of one million
words. The texts are distributed across 32 categories, including private
conversations, telephone calls, court proceedings, broadcasts, social
letters, examination scripts, and academic writing.

ICE-GB has been grammatically analysed at wordclass level, and at the
function and category levels. The analyses are presented as labelled
syntactic trees - 83,419 trees in total.

The corpus is distributed with its own dedicated retrieval software, ICECUP.
ICE-GB and ICECUP are available now on CD-ROM.

A Sample Corpus of ten parsed texts, together with ICECUP, may be downloaded

Unicode scripts and alphabets
The Unicode Standard includes two-byte coding for the following scripts:

Arabic, Armenian, ASCII, Bengali, Bopomofo, Chinese, Cyrillic,
Devanagari, Georgian, Greek, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Hangul, Hebrew,
Hiragana, Japanese, Kannada, Katakana, Korean, Korean Hangul,
Lao, Latin (standard, European and extended), Malayalam, Oriya,
standard phonetic, Tamil, Telegu, Thai, Tibetan.

Additional coding provides for: general punctuation, superscripts
and subscripts, currency symbols, diacritical marks for various
scripts, letterlike symbols, number forms (Roman numerals, common
fractions), arrows, mathematical operators, control codes, optical
character recognition, form and chart components, dingbats.
